AISI Comments on Gerdau Leadership Changes

 Thomas J. Gibson, president and CEO of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), Friday afternoon had the following statement regarding the promotion of Guilherme Johannpeter to Executive Vice President of Gerdau and Peter Campo’s appointment as the new president of Gerdau Long Steel North America.

"It has been a privilege to have Guilherme serve as a member of the AISI Board of Directors. His dedication and thoughtful leadership has been invaluable not only to the Institute, but in addressing key issues affecting our industry. We look forward to his continued advocacy on behalf of the steel sector and wish him all the best in São Paulo."

Gibson continued, “We also congratulate Peter on his new leadership role at Gerdau Long Steel North America and look forward to working with him to strengthen the U.S. steel industry.

Johannpeter was appointed to the AISI Board of Directors in 2011 and has also served on a variety of Board-level committees.
